Do Whatsapp Notify Screenshots?

I was chatting with a friend and took a screenshot, but now I’m worried does WhatsApp notify screenshots, or will the other person find out?

To add to this, WhatsApp technically can’t detect screenshots at the system level on Android or iOS. That’s why there’s no screenshot notification in regular chats. So unless the person physically sees you taking the screenshot, they won’t know.

Exactly! WhatsApp has no way to track screenshots on Android or iOS, so no notifications are sent. The only way someone would know is if they actually see you taking it.

No, WhatsApp does not notify users when someone takes a screenshot of chats, status updates, or profiles. Unlike some other messaging apps, WhatsApp cannot detect screenshots at the system level on Android or iOS. This means you can capture the screen without the other person knowing, and the only way they would find out is if they actually see you taking the screenshot.

WhatsApp does not notify someone if you take a screenshot of regular chats, status updates, or profile pictures. However, if you’re viewing a “View Once” photo or video, WhatsApp currently blocks screenshots on most devices instead of sending a notification.

No, WhatsApp does not notify users when someone takes a screenshot of chats, status, or profile photos. However, users should still respect privacy when sharing or saving other people’s content.

I've checked the latest WhatsApp update and found that they do indeed notify users if someone takes a screenshot of a chat. The feature may not be enabled by default, but you can check your settings in the app. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Screen Sharing to see if you have it enabled.

No, WhatsApp does not notify screenshots for chats, status updates, or profile pictures. You can take screenshots without the other person knowing. However, some privacy-protected “view once” media may block screenshots on certain devices or app versions.

WhatsApp does not normally notify users when someone takes a screenshot of chats, status updates, or profile pictures. You can usually capture screenshots without the other person knowing. However, for privacy-focused features like “View Once” photos or videos, WhatsApp blocks screenshots on many devices to protect shared content. Even without notifications, it is always respectful to protect other people’s privacy and avoid sharing personal conversations or media without permission.
