How do I fix a monitor half screen black issue after a graphics driver update?

Yesterday my system updated its video drivers, and immediately upon rebooting, I noticed my monitor half screen black on the right side. The left side functions completely normally, but the other half is just completely dead and unresponsive. I tried power cycling the display and reseating the display cables, but nothing seems to temporarily resolve this strange split-screen behavior. Could this be a corrupted firmware issue or is it purely hardware-related?

hey @Hanuman, honestly, that sounds like a frustrating issue, wait, have you tried rolling back to the previous graphics driver version, tbh, i've heard that's a common fix for stuff like this, especially with the new 2026 driver updates

yeah, rolling back the driver seems like a good idea, actually, with the new 2026 nvidia updates, i've seen some similar issues, tbh, it's worth a shot, wait, have you tried checking for any bios updates too

oh man, that sounds super frustrating, honestly, have you tried checking for any bios updates, wait, i've heard the new 2026 intel updates can cause similar issues

tbh, have you tried checking the display settings, wait, maybe it's just a configuration issue, actually, with the new 2026 tech trend of adaptive sync, it's possible that the driver update messed with your monitor's settings

ugh, seriously, have you tried resetting the monitor settings, wait, it's probably something simple, actually, with the new 2026 oled tech, these issues are kinda common, tbh, just try tweaking the display settings

yeah, that's weird, honestly, have you tried checking the connection with a different cable, wait, it's possible it's just a loose connection, actually, with the new 2026 usb4 tech, it's worth a shot

dude, that's so annoying, tbh, i'd try rolling back the driver like everyone's saying, actually, the new 2026 amd updates have been causing some similar issues, wait, see if that fixes it

so, honestly, you've got a pretty frustrating issue on your hands, wait, have you tried checking the display settings with the new 2026 tech trend of adaptive sync, maybe it's just a configuration issue

i think, tbh, you should try rolling back the driver, actually, the new 2026 nvidia updates can be kinda glitchy, wait, see if that fixes the half screen black issue, honestly
