How to phone an extension number directly from my contacts?

I frequently call an office where I have to wait for the automated prompt to enter a 4 digit code. Is there a shortcut for how to phone an extension automatically? I’d like to save the number with a pause so it dials the extension for me.

In order to directly dial the extension, add a comma (following pause) or a semicolon (following wait) to the number after entering it in your address book (i.e. save as 123-456-7890, 123), so that your phone can automatically call the extension after calling the original number.

Save the main phone number in your contacts, add a comma or pause, then enter the extension number so it dials automatically when you call.

Save the number with a pause before the extension (e.g., add a comma on iPhone or “p” on Android): 1234567890,123. When you call the contact, your phone will dial the extension automatically.

To dial an extension directly from your contacts, save the phone number and add a pause or wait before the extension (for example, 1234567890,123 or 1234567890;123), so your phone automatically dials the main number first and then sends the extension when connected; most Android and iPhone phones support this.
