I’ve recently become more cautious about online security and want to improve my computer virus prevention setup. What practical steps do you all follow for computer virus prevention besides just installing antivirus software? I’m trying to build better computer virus prevention habits, especially with downloads and email attachments.

Get a good antivirus and update it, as well as your operating system and applications. Don’t download files or software off of sources that you do not know and do not click on suspicious links or attachments in emails. Use passwords that are hard to crack, turn on a firewall, scan the USB drives, save important data on a regular basis and have a secure home Wi-Fi.

I just stick to a few habits that help a lot: keep my system and antivirus updated, avoid downloading from random sites, and double-check email attachments before opening them. Also using strong passwords and enabling the firewall has saved me from a few sketchy situations.
