How are you using skincare tips AI technology to improve your daily routine?

I’ve seen a rise in apps that scan your face to suggest specific products for acne or aging. While it's convenient to get skincare tips ai technology provides, I wonder how accurate these algorithms are compared to a physical consultation with a dermatologist. Have any of you successfully identified a skin condition or found a "holy grail" product using these AI-driven scanners, or do you find them to be mostly marketing gimmicks?

Honestly they're decent for a starting point but I wouldn't trust them over a real dermatologist, they're good for basic stuff like figuring out your skin type or product layering but for anything like actual acne or conditions just go see someone in person.

AI-powered skincare tools—like L’Oréal Skin Genius and YouCam Makeup—analyze your skin through photos to assess concerns such as acne, wrinkles, and dryness. They then suggest personalized routines, products, and timing. By tracking progress over time, these tools help adjust your daily routine for better, data-driven skincare results.

I mostly use AI casually to fine-tune my routine rather than follow it blindly. For example, I’ll check ingredients through AI tools to see if something suits my skin type or might clash with other products. It’s also helpful for quick routines or fixing specific issues like dryness or breakouts. That said, I still rely on basic skincare rules and my own experience, because AI suggestions can be generic and not everything works the same for everyone.
