How to record a phone call on android for a business interview?

I need to document a few verbal agreements for work. I am looking for the most reliable way regarding how to record a phone call on android without losing audio quality. Are there built-in settings in the dialer, or do I need a third-party app?

If you have a Samsung, you’re in luck. Open the Phone app > Settings > Record calls. It’s built-in and the quality is perfect because it’s system-level. If you’re on a Pixel or Motorola using the Google Dialer, it’ll announce "THIS CALL IS NOW BEING RECORDED" to the other person. Not exactly "professional" for an interview if you haven't warned them first.

Google is garbage for this. They killed the accessibility API so third-party apps like ACR only record your voice and the other person sounds like they’re in a basement three miles away.

Actually, I use Cube ACR. You have to download the "Helper" app from their website because the Play Store version is gimped. It’s the only way to get internal audio on Android 14/15. Works for WhatsApp calls too which is a plus.

For a business interview, don’t risk it with buggy apps. Use Google Voice. It has a built-in "Record" feature (press 4 during the call). It saves it to the cloud immediately. The only catch is it only works for incoming calls, so you have to have them call you.

Serious note: Check your local laws. If you're in a "two-party consent" state and you record without telling them, those "verbal agreements" are legally useless and might actually get you sued.

The only real way to do this without the announcement or shitty audio is to root your phone and install a custom kernel. But if you’re asking here, you probably shouldn't try that or you'll brick your device.

Lol at everyone struggling. Just use a $20 3.5mm call recording adapter from Amazon. Physical hardware beats software restrictions every time.

Try the steps below:
  1. Check if your native dialer has the "Record" button during a live call.
  2. If using Google Dialer, be aware of the audio prompt.
  3. For third-party, use Boldbeast it’s ugly but works on more hardware than most.

The Android Android has been found to record calls based on your device and local legislation. There are also phones with inbuilt call recording and those with third party applications. This should always be informed early on by the other person before recording since the consent laws differ by location. In the case of business interviews, one had better clear permission with the interviewer before recording.

Android has a call recording that is based on your model of phone and local legislation. Others have call recording installed on them whereas others have third party applications. Never record without giving notification as it is illegal in some cases to record without the other party.

To record a phone call on Android for a business interview, use a call-recording app (like Cube ACR or a phone’s built-in recorder if available), enable call recording, and inform the other person and get consent, as call-recording laws vary by location.
