How to Turn Off AI Overview?

At this point the new search results are becoming somewhat messy and I personally think that the old list of blue links with the help of a generated summary on the top is better. Is there a permanent setting or a reliable browser extension that explains how to turn off ai overview in Google Search? My tried steps of using the manual Web tab every time are only one way to prevent its use manually on my desktop as well as on my mobile device.

To turn off AI Overview, go to Settings > System > Preferences. Select 'Advanced' and then 'AI Overview'. Toggle the switch off. Alternatively, you can also disable it in the 'Quick Settings' menu by clicking the three dots on the right side. This should remove the AI Overview widget from your screen and stop its data collection.

To turn off AI Overview (like in Google Search), you usually can’t disable it permanently yet. But you can avoid it by:
  • Adding “-ai” or “forums” to your search
  • Using the Web tab instead of All results
  • Using a browser extension that hides AI results
Settings options may vary depending on device and region.
