Sometimes I want offline access to music, but I’m unsure whether using YouTube or MP3 converters is safe. Has anyone had security issues after using a youtube or mp3 conversion site? I’m concerned about malware and whether youtube or mp3 tools are even legal or reliable.

Downloading YouTube or MP3 converters to download materials on YouTube is not advisable. Most converters do not comply with the conditions of service by YouTube, might subject you to malware, spyware, or adware, and might be unlawful when you download copyrighted content without the permission of the copyright holder(s). Safer alternatives would be to use official offline options such as YouTube premium or only downloading the content that is copyright-free or your own.

Using converters to download content from platforms like YouTube is generally unsafe. Many sites contain malware, intrusive ads, or phishing risks. It may also violate YouTube’s terms of service and copyright laws. Safer options include official downloads through YouTube Premium or authorized music platforms.

Using YouTube or MP3 converters is dangerous because almost all of them carry malware, intrusive ads, or phishing links, and if you download copyrighted videos, you are also violating YouTube's terms as well as the laws of your country. It is safest, therefore, to resort to official sources such as YouTube Premium or other music platforms that operate with a license, through which you can legally and securely download content.
