What Are the Core Differences Between SFDC vs SaaS Architecture?

I am currently researching enterprise software models and I am getting a bit confused by the overlapping terminology regarding sfdc saas solutions. While Salesforce is often cited as the gold standard for cloud-based CRM, I want to understand if there are specific architectural limitations or advantages when comparing a native SFDC build to a standard multi-tenant SaaS application.

SFDC (Salesforce) is a specific CRM platform built on a SaaS model, while SaaS is a general cloud software delivery model. SFDC focuses on CRM features, customization, and enterprise tools, whereas SaaS refers to any software accessed via the internet. SFDC is an example of SaaS architecture, not a separate architecture type.
