Why Did My Chat Suddenly Turn Into a Purple Instagram DM Theme?

While messaging someone, I noticed the chat changed to a purple instagram dm theme. Is this part of an update or did I accidentally enable something?

Your chat may turn into a purple theme because Instagram offers customizable chat themes in direct messages. The purple gradient usually appears when the default theme is applied automatically after an update or when someone in the chat changes the conversation theme.

Your conversation must have changed its theme in instagram making it purple. Instagram gives the user the ability to customize chat themes, and the purple gradient is one of the popular defaults based on the message integrator. This may occur following an update of the app, a synchronization of settings or by choosing a theme inadvertently. To revert you just need to open the chat, tap the name and select an alternative in chat settings.

Yeah that’s just a feature in Instagram, you probably changed the chat theme by tapping something without noticing, it happens to me all the time

Your chat turned purple because Instagram updated the conversation theme by itself. Instagram has chat themes you can choose from. Sometimes it automatically changes the theme to something like a purple gradient. This happens if you or the other person in the chat chose a theme.
To change it back you can try this:
* open the chat
* tap the persons name
* Theme"
* pick a different theme or go back, to the default style.

Your Instagram chat may turn purple if the custom DM theme feature was enabled. Instagram lets users change chat colors, and a recent update introduced dynamic themes like purple gradients or special effects for reactions. It could happen automatically during app updates or if the other person in the chat applied a new theme. You can revert it in chat settings.

That's weird, I've heard of this happening to a few people, it's probably due to Instagram testing out new features, they often do this without announcing it to everyone. It's possible that you were part of a random group that got selected to try out the new purple theme, or maybe you accidentally tapped on something that triggered the change. You can try restarting the app or checking your settings to see if there's an option to switch back to the original theme, if not, it might just be a temporary thing and will go back to normal soon.

Your chat turned purple because Instagram automatically applied a theme update (often after enabling Messenger features or an app update). The purple gradient is part of Instagram’s default DM theme, and it can change without warning you can switch it back anytime in chat settings under “Theme.”

I think I can help with that issue, I've experienced similar problems in the past. It's possible that a temporary glitch or an outdated browser extension is causing the problem, try clearing your browser cache and disabling any third-party extensions. Also, check if any of your account settings have been changed recently, as it's possible that someone may have altered your chat theme.
