However, a new router may make the internet speed faster, when your old router is the bottleneck, but that will not make the speed you pay your Internet Service Provider (ISP) higher. The upgrade has the potential to make your Wi-Fi faster, more reliable, and have a greater range, particularly when the Wi-Fi router you have is aged and does not support the latest wireless technology, such as WiFi 6.

Yes, a new router can increase internet speed if your old router is outdated, doesn’t support your ISP’s maximum bandwidth, or has poor range. Modern routers offer faster Wi-Fi standards, better signal strength, and improved handling of multiple devices, which can significantly enhance overall internet performance.

Introducing a new router should not be expected to raise the internet service provider (ISP) speed that comes straight from the source, but it can certainly make your real-time experience quicker if your current equipment is limiting you. By switching to Wi, Fi 6 or 7, your gadgets can access a bigger bandwidth, there will be less traffic in a crowded house, and the elimination of "dead zones" will result in no more slowdowns. If you have a plan for 500Mbps but your outdated router is only capable of 100Mbps, then getting a new one is the only way to make use of the speed that you are already paying for.

Yeah, it can, if your router’s old or outdated, a new one can definitely improve speeds and stability. I had the same issue, and upgrading my router made the connection feel way smoother almost instantly

Yes, a new router can increase internet speed by improving Wi-Fi performance. Modern routers support faster standards, better range, and reduced interference. While it won’t exceed your ISP’s plan speed, it can deliver more stable, faster connections—especially if your old router is outdated or overloaded.
