I’m tired of social media and want a break. Can someone explain how do i delete my Instagram account permanently without losing data?

Be careful once you delete it, everything is gone. There’s no way to recover messages, followers, or posts. Make sure you download your data and double-check that it’s backed up before hitting delete.

To delete your Instagram account, go to Settings → Accounts Center → Personal details → Account ownership and control → Deactivation or deletion, choose Delete account, and confirm.

If you want to delete your Instagram account forever, the first step is to log in through a web browser (use a browser, not the app). Next, navigate to Instagram's Delete Your Account page, select a reason for leaving, type your password again, and press the Delete Account button. Once the wait time is over, your account will be deleted permanently; that's why backing up your data beforehand is a must.

Totally get that, before deleting it permanently, just download your Instagram data from Settings → Accounts Center → Your Information. Once that’s saved, you can delete the account without losing your photos or memories.
