I have a big paper that is due very soon and my professor is very serious on the layout. I'm struggling with how to do mla format on google docs correctly specifically the 1-inch margins, the double spacing, and that specific header with the page number and my last name in the top right corner. I am aware that there are templates, but they always have additional fillers that I do not require. Can somebody give a checklist step by step on how to implement this manually using a blank document? I also would like to make my Works Cited page in a hanging indent but cannot locate such a setting anywhere in the alignment tools.

Setting up 1-inch margin (File > Page setup), 12-pt Times New Roman, double-space (Format > Line spacing), header with your last name and page number, proper MLA heading and proper formatting of the title and Works Cited page are all implemented in Google Docs.

On the first page, type your name, instructor, course, and date on separate lines. Finally, use the "Format" menu to set half-inch hanging indents for your Works Cited page.
