How to Install and Optimize Acer Linux OS?

I am looking into switching away from Windows and want to know the best way to set up an acer linux os environment on my Swift laptop. I've heard there can be driver issues with the touchpad and Wi-Fi cards, so I'm looking for a distro recommendation that works out of the box.

To successfully install and optimize Acer Linux OS, the first step will be creating a bootable USB using a distribution such as Ubuntu Linux and then accessing the BIOS setup (F2/Del key) to set USB priority and then installing the Linux operating system from the USB onto the computer drive. Finally, optimize performance by updating all packages, installing the relevant drivers and optimizing performance through the disabling of unnecessary startup processes.

To install Acer Linux OS, make a bootable USB with Ubuntu. Enter BIOS by F2, change USB priority and install. Optimize updating packages and installing touchpad and Wi-Fi drivers. Lastly, put off startup processes that are not necessary, to enhance performance on your Swift laptop.

Installing Linux on an Acer laptop is pretty straightforward. I’ve done it with Ubuntu and Linux Mint without issues. Just create a bootable USB drive using Rufus, disable Secure Boot in the BIOS, and boot from the USB to start the installation. After installation, run updates and install drivers (especially WiFi and graphics) using the “Additional Drivers” tool. For optimization, I usually disable startup apps, install TLP for better battery life, and use a lightweight desktop like XFCE if the system feels slow, which makes a noticeable difference on mid or low-end Acer machines.
