How to Remove a Bug on Monitor?

A tiny insect somehow managed to crawl behind the outer layer of my screen and died right in the middle of my field of view. Now that there is a dead bug on monitor pixels, is there any safe way to tap the screen or use a vacuum to move it to the edge without cracking the display?

Honestly, don’t tap or vacuum it you’ll risk damaging the screen; if it’s inside the panel, the only real fix is professional repair or living with it. I had this once and just adjusted my wallpaper to ignore it.

If a bug appears on your monitor, first check if it’s actually inside or just on the screen. Gently clean the surface with a microfiber cloth. If it’s inside, turn off your display and lightly tap or tilt it to encourage the bug to move. For persistent issues, avoid opening the monitor yourself—contact a professional to prevent damage.

In case you spot an insect on your screen, the initial step is to determine whether the insect is inside the screen or on the screen. In the case where the insects are on the screen, you can turn off the screen gently and then wipe the screen with a microfiber cloth. In the case where the insects are inside the screen, do not open the screen as this can result in damaging the screen. You can try to vibrate the screen gently to encourage the insects to move. If the insects do not move, consider hiring experts to repair the screen. Cleaning your work space is important as it prevents insects from entering the screen.
