When does Spotify Wrapped Come Out?

I want to know when does Spotify Wrapped come out each year and how I can access it in the app. Does Spotify announce an exact release date, or does it change every year?

Spotify Wrapped usually comes out in late November or early December, most commonly around the first week of December. Spotify doesn’t lock in a public fixed date, but patterns show it drops once listening data for the year closes. You’ll see it right on the home screen of the mobile app. Desktop users usually don’t get the full experience.

Historically, when does Spotify Wrapped come out has been fairly consistent. Spotify typically stops tracking data around mid-November and releases Wrapped shortly after. While they sometimes tease it on social media, there’s rarely an exact date announced in advance. Access is primarily mobile-first because the experience relies heavily on interactive stories.

It comes out exactly when you forget about it — then suddenly everyone on Instagram is flexing their “top 0.5% listener” badge. One day Spotify is normal, next day it’s calling you out for listening to the same song 412 times. That’s how you know Wrapped has arrived.

From my experience, it’s almost always early December. I’ve never seen it drop later than that. I just open the app one day and boom, Wrapped banner everywhere. If you don’t see it, updating the app usually fixes it. Desktop is pretty useless for this.

Ah yes, the annual mystery of when does Spotify Wrapped come out — a question humanity asks every year despite the answer always being “around December like always.” Spotify won’t tell you the exact date because surprises are apparently more fun than planning.

If you’re tracking patterns, when does Spotify Wrapped come out depends on when Spotify finalizes yearly data. Listening after mid-November doesn’t count. Wrapped is rolled out server-side, so not everyone sees it at the exact same hour. Mobile apps get priority since features like story slides don’t translate well to desktop environments.
