Recently I noticed a computer screen shadow problem where faint images or shadows remain on the display. Is this a hardware issue or something that can be fixed with settings?

I just wanted to chime in and say I've been experiencing a similar issue with my monitor and it turned out to be a loose connection on the VGA cable.
